The Sunderland Theatre Organ Preservation Society present Cameron Lloyd at the Mighty Compton Organ on Sunday at 2.30pm in Ryhope Community Centre, Black Road, Ryhope. Cameron makes a welcome return visit to Ryhope, playing a wide selection of music to suit all tastes and in his popular “Blackpool” style.

The charity concert in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care raised a total of £360. The society wishes to thank everyone for their continued support.

Silksworth Heritage Group will meet in Beckwith Mews on Monday, October 17, at 1.45pm. Phil Curtis will give a talk and slide show about past Sunderland footballers from Shackleton to Hurley.

Tunstall WI will meet in North Street Methodist Church, Silksworth, on Thursday at 7pm. Speaker will be Chris O’Neill, and the competition will be for th best decorative picture frame. Guests and new members always welcome.

Silksworth IM Church is hosting the circuit church’s Got Talent young people’s event this Friday from 6pm to 9pm.

Ryhope Heritage Group will meet in Ryhope Community Centre on Tuesday, October 18, at 1.30pm. Bryan Ibbitson will show a film he has compiled, parts of which will be shown at the exhibition to commemorate 50 years since Ryhope Colliery closed. The exhibition will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26. More details to come.
