Tunstall WI members enjoyed their summer break with a trip to Knaresborough on the hottest day in August, which included a delicious tea provided by the ladies of Forest Moor WI. This was most welcome and really enjoyed by all. A big thank you to secretary Sheila Cassidy for organising the day out. Members also visited Harrogate on September 3 for the WI Centennial Fair to celebrate 100 years of the WI. There is also an afternoon tea arranged at Beamish Hall on September 16, exactly 100 years to the day since the first WI meeting was held in Anglesy, when a lovely display of hats and posh frocks will be worn to mark the occasion.
