NEWCASTLE United bosses have banned non-season ticket holders from away games after violence erupted on the pitch at a pre-season friendly.

The club said non-season ticket holders and non-members would not be able to buy tickets for away games after Friday night’s “shameful and unsavoury” events during the friendly game in Darlington.

The club vowed to work with police to trace those behind the trouble, which saw fights break out on the pitch.
