Seaham golfer Colin pipped to Durham County Third Division Championship
Seaham's Colin Bentham just missed out on the Durham County Third Division Championship, pipped by one shot at Whitburn,
Bentham, a 14-handicapper, posted a nett 64, but Eaglescliffe’s Rob King pushed him into second place, with the 11-handicapper one shot better off.
Roseberry Grange’s Doug Whitley was ninth (68), one shot better than Seaham pair Paul Price and Neil McGann, club-mate Michael Payne and Whitburn’s Gary Russell.
Of those shooting 70, Houghton’s Colin Houghton was 16th and Whitburn’s Terry Fletcher 19th, while Wearside had Stephen Belchamber 23rd (71) and Joe Marshall 24th (72).
