This evening the Parochial Church Council for Christ Church will be held at 7pm in the parish hall when final details for the summer fair and the cheese and wine evening will be among the items to be discussed.

Tomorrow at 7pm, Seaham Branch of the Royal British Legion will meet in the Farn Scouting Centre, Parkside Road. New members are welcome.

A Book of Remembrance for those men from Seaham who gave their lives in the service of our country during the First World War is on view in Christ Church, New Seaham. You will find the book on the window sill behind the stone font at the back of the north aisle.

Saint Mary the Virgin Church, Old Seaham, a 7th/8th century Anglo Saxon Church, will be open for visitors and pilgrims every Wednesday and Saturday from 2pm-4pm until mid September.

The Royal British Legion, Group 3 meeting will be held in the Scout Club, Wheatley Hill, on Saturday at 2pm.

Services at Christ Church, New Seaham, for Sunday are: Holy Communion at 10am and evening prayer at 6pm; St Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale will celebrate Holy Communion at 6pm.

On Sunday, Sung Eucharist will be held at 9.30am at All Saints’, Deneside, and the Parish Eucharist will be held at St John’s the Evangelist, Seaham, at 11am.

Seaham Churches are invited to attend the Mothers’ Union Service on June 20, to be held in All Saints’, Deneside.

A new gentle circuit class will be held every Monday from 1pm-2pm in Seaton Community Centre. Cost will be £2.

On Tuesday, June 21, and every Tuesday during term-time, the toddler group will meet in Christ Church hall between 9.30am and 11am. The children enjoy fun and play and a healthy snack.

Each Tuesday, Seaham Methodist Toddler Group meets in the church from 9.30am. Cost is £1. To have your child’s name added to the waiting list, call in and speak to the leaders or contact Deacon Esther for more details on 07572 153791.

Rock Solid Youth Group, for seven to 11-year-olds, meets in Seaham Methodist Church, Tempest Road. Contact Deacon Esther on 07572 153791 for more details.

Members of Church groups are invited to Christ Church Mothers’ Union annual pie and peas social afternoon on Monday, July 4. There will be bingo, raffle and quiz. See group leaders for further information and to book your ticket.
