Tomorrow from noon-4pm, Dawdon Community Centre is hosting an Easter Family Fun Day consisting of free active, creative, sport and dance workshops for children, young people and families. There will be a table top sale and stalls, a low cost cafe, games and an outdoor gym-hub. The event is supported by East Durham Area Action Partnerships, Holiday Hunger Fund and Barclays Bank. Quit smoking sessions take place at Eastlea Community Centre on Mondays from 1pm-2pm. Pop in and speak to June for more information.

Seaham Methodist Church will hold its coffee morning and bake sale from 10.30am on Saturday in the church. There will be a wide selection of cakes and pastries. Proceeds are for church funds. Entry is £1 and includes a free cup of coffee or tea.

Sunday at 9.15am there will be a service of Holy Communion at St Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale.

Morning prayer will be held at Christ Church on Sunday at 10am and Holy Communion will be celebrated at 6pm. On Wednesday at 10am there will be a ‘said’ service of Holy Communion.

Christ Church Mothers’ Union will meet in the church hall on Monday, April 11 (one week earlier than normal due to the Lady Day Service). All members are requested to support this meeting and bring a friend. The guest speaker will be Dawn Hughes.

The next meeting of Seaham Branch of the Royal British Legion will be held on Wednesday, April 20, in The Farn Scouting Centre, Parkside Road, when the new officials and committee will be finalised and the branch move forward again with confidence. All members requested to attend and new members welcome. You don’t have to have served in the forces to support the work of the Legion.

Seaham Town Bowls Club would welcome new members to play bowls this summer. No experience is required as coaching is available. The new season starts on Monday, April 11, and runs until September. There are ladies and men’s teams who compete in the local leagues. Come along and meet the team members for a chat and a roll up (bowlers call that having a game) from 1pm, Monday to Saturday.
