On Thursday Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir will sing in a charity concert in aid of the British Legion Poppy Appeal in Christ Church at 7.15pm . Tickets are £5, available on 5810419 or pay at the door. Raffle prizes will be gratefully accepted.

Easington Deanery is holding a Pilgrim Course – Turning to Christ over a period of six weeks at various churches in the area. The series begins at Holy Trinity, Murton on Thursday and continues the following week, October 1, at St Mary’s, Horden. The third session will be at Christ Church, New Seaham, on October 8. The last three sessions will be at All Saints’, Wheatley Hill, Holy Trinity, South Hetton, and St Andrew’s, Blackhall. Sessions are from 7.30pm to 9pm.

The monthly lunch at Christ Church is back after the holiday break. Lunches will be served on Friday5 from 11.30am to 1pm. A tombola stall is available for those who like a flutter.’All welcome.

To raise funds for a new church roof Seaham Spiritualist Church will hold a Medium Aid Day in the church at Vane Terrace on Saturdayfrom 10am to 4pm. Private sittings, Healing and Indian Head Massage sessions available, all treatments £15 (£5 deposit required). To book, call in at the church or phone Edith on 5814466. Sunday service is held at 6.30pm and Monday healing at 6.15pm.
