Wednesday 19 August Seaham Branch of the Royal British Legion will meet at The Farn Scouting Centre, Parkside Road, at 7.30pm. New members are welcome.

Sunday Services at Christ Church, New Seaham, on August 23 are Holy Communion at 10am and evening prayer at 6pm. St Andrew’s, Dalton le Dale, will hold morning prayer at 10am.

Seaham Heritage Centre, Seaham Marina, is open to the public on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm.

Dawdon (2nd Seaham) Scouts are to hold a sponsored walk on Friday, August 28, to help raise funds for adventurous activities. Contact Scout Leader on 5810419 or on Friday evenings at the Farn Scouting Centre from 7.15pm.

A charity concert with entertainment by Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir will be held in Christ Church, New Seaham, on Thursday, September 24, at 7.15pm in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Tickets (5) are available from members of Seaham Branch of the RBL, Dawdon (2nd Seaham) Scouts or Elizabeth on 5810419.

Dalton-Le-Dale History Society is to hold a cheese and wine evening on Tuesday, September 29, at 7pm. Entertainment will be by The Three Wise Men and there will be a short film of the First World War Celebration weekend in the village.
