Scorchio! Heat wave set to continue as another warm week awaits the North East

The sweltering temperatures are set to continue with only the odd shower puncturing the perfect summer weather this week.

The summer holidays have got off to a flying start as the heat wave continues.

Temperatures are set to reach 27 °C degrees today, though it will be a little cloudy with some showers and light winds possible.

Tuesday will see temperatures reach up to 28 °C, but it will be generally cloudy with outbreaks of rain or showers.

Some brighter spells are possible away from the rain, especially in the afternoon.

The outlook for the rest of the week is for dry with hazy sunshine on Wednesday, and mainly dry on Thursday, perhaps an isolated shower later.

Friday will see sunny spells, but heavy afternoon showers possible. It ill be very warm throughout, but cooler on the coast.
