A SCHOOLBOY had to be airlifted to hospital after falling 20ft from a cliff,
The air ambulance was called to the Brandling Court area of Shotton Colliery at 3.30pm on Wednesday after the 12-year-old boy fell.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with injuries to his head, back and neck. He is in a stable condition and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The North East Ambulance Service requested the assistance of The Great North Air Ambulance because of the accident’s location.
Durham Constabulary attended the scene to keep the area clear for take-off.
