Santa rides go down a storm with Sunderland youngsters
Youngsters visiting Roker Park today got the chance to go on a festive ride with Santa.
The two-day Santa rides event was organised for the first time by the The City of Sunderland Model Engineering Society Ltd and saw children ride some of the trains on the model railway in the park.
Club secretary Peter Russell said the event had been such a success that the club hope to put it on next year.
“We have had more than 100 youngsters come along over the weekend," he said.
“It keeps the parents and children happy and it is something nice to help raise funds to maintain the club.”
