THE married footballer named on Twitter as having an injunction over an alleged affair has been named in Parliament.

Liberal Democrat MP John Hemmingway today named Ryan Giggs during an urgent Commons question on privacy orders.

He used parliamentary privilege to break the court order, adding it would be impossible to imprison the 75,000 Twitter users who named him.

The High Court had earlier ruled the injunction should not be lifted.
