AN astronomer will be explaining all the latest findings about space, the universe and more in a talk on Wearside.

The National Glass Centre will be hosting public astronomer Marek Kukul, from the Royal Observatory Greenwich, as he presents “A Talk on the Universe”, an illustrated guide to space.

This will include exploding stars, a moon where liquid methane rains from orange clouds and a monstrous black hole at the centre of our galaxy.

The one-hour event takes place on Thursday from 6.30pm in the Pod at the Glass Centre.

Entry is free and no booking is required.

It is also presented alongside the exhibition Mirror to Discovery, which runs until September 9.
