For years now, Sunderland have just about made it to safety and last year in particular just avoided the drop with an unexpected point away to Arsenal in the second last game of the season.

Sunderland fans question every year why their team continue to struggle and try and still are trying to identify the underlying problem which leaves the side unable to progress up the league.

Whether it be a frequent change of manager, lack of quality signings or the problem lying with the board, it’s important for this team and set of fans to stick together and keep this great club in the Premier League.

The game against Manchester City on Tuesday night left fans disappointed and, after a really positive performance against a world-class City side, maybe some confidence has been brought back to the side.

In the game against Liverpool tomorrow, I feel we have to really go out with purpose in our play and set up with our new January transfers on show.

This great club and its fan base should not be playing anywhere else but the Premier League. Let’s get behind our team and play our part as fans.

Haway the lads!
