Roads closed following gas leak in East Boldon field

The leak is from a field near to Boker Lane.

Northumbria Police, the gas board and officers from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service are in attendence.

It's understood Boker Lane, North Road and Tile Shed Lane have been closed for the evening.

Northumbria Police tweeted: "In relation to the gas leak near to Boker Lane, North Road, Tile Shed Lane East Boldon these roads will now be closed for the rest of the evening, please ensure you use an alternative route thank you."
