Road reopened following crash between a van and car in Sunderland

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Tunstall Road, in Sunderland, near the roundabout with Belvedere Road, at 6.25pm on Monday, December 30.

No one is believed to have been seriously hurt in the crash although one of the drivers did suffer minor injuries.

Officers closed off the road following the crash which involved two vehicles – a van and a car.

The road has now been reopened and emergency services have left the scene.

Both cars have been recovered and debris has been cleared.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “We were called to Tunstall Road at 6.25pm to a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

“The road was closed for a short time to allow for the recovery of the vehicles involved.”
