A DRINK-DRIVER was almost three times the limit on a Monday lunchtime after a “heavy weekend” at the races.
Callum Lough had been out on all-day drinking sessions from Friday to Sunday on the last weekend in July, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
When he was pulled over by police in Washington on July 30, his breath test reading was 103 mircrogrammes of allcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35 micrgrammes.
Lough, 21, of Cleveland Drive, Lambton, admitted driving with excess alcohol.
He was given a 12-month community order, a four-month Tuesday to Sunday night-time curfew, and banned from driving for 12 months.
