The Sunderland fighter will take to the ring on October 13, 2018, at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena, on the undercard of another massive night of boxing headlined by home fighter Lewis Ritson.

Foot was last in action against Sam Omidi at the same venue as he easily outpointed his opponent in a tune up fight.

He ripped the Commonwealth strap off Jason Easton in Glasgow earlier this year, completing the job inside the distance.

The British belt will also be on the line against Davies Jr, after Jack Catterall vacated it to pursue other avenues.

Meanwhile, Foot's opponent Davies Jr thinks his 2017 loss to Michal Syrowatka was a blessing in disguise - something the Marley Pots 30-year-old understands all too well.

The Matchroom fighter, who has 16 wins under his belt, 12 inside the distance, said: "I just look at is as a blessing in disguise.

"The things I have done since I took that loss - I wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t of lost that fight.

"It’s one of those things. I could of scraped through that fight, because even on my worst days I can beat these kids, I don’t need to train that hard.

"But because of that loss, it made me realise how many levels I have to go through because that 70% version of me can fail. So I need to make sure that every fight now I am the best version of me."
