Repair work underway at Sunderland underpass after fire near Metro station
A clean-up operation has taken place in Sunderland following a fire in an underpass.
Crews were called on Monday, January 20 to reports of the blaze at around 8.50pm in an underpass between University Metro station and Victoria Court.
A statement from the council on Wednesday, January 22 said: “Following an inspection and clean-up work, the council is looking to re-painting the subway and making any necessary repairs.”
