Ready for clean-up campaign

Have your say

NEIGHBOURS are being invited to take part in a community clean-up.

People are being given the chance to have a clear-out during the event organised by East Durham Homes and Morrison Facility Services.

Skips will be provided at locations across East Durham between Monday and Friday next week and staff from the two organisations will be on hand to answer any general queries.

During the community clean-up week, events will be held between 10am and 2pm on Monday in Manor Way in Peterlee; Tuesday near Kasko House/Marine Crescent in Blackhall; Wednesday, opposite Wheatley Hill Community Primary School and Thursday in Kings Road in Wingate.

There will be one skip at each location for level loads. Asbestos, fridges/freezers, gas bottles, car batteries, tyres, clinical waste and TV and computer screens will not be accepted.

Julie Dower, customer involvement manager at East Durham Homes, said: “The community clean-up week will give residents the chance to have a clear-out before Christmas and get rid of any bulky items or additional rubbish.”
