Staff were threatened with an axe in a robbery at a Wearside shop.

Police have released pictures of two people they want to trace after the raid at the B&S superstore in Front Street, Fencehouses, at around 8.30pm on Friday, August 10.

A man and a woman entered the store and approached the till. The man then threatened staff with an axe.

Around £200 cash concealed in a black box was stolen, before the pair made off

Police have now identified two people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. They were in the store at the time of the offence and may be able to assist officers with their investigation.

The pair, or anyone who knows them, are asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1093 100818 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
