AN art gallery and museum has been awarded cash as part of a partnership which brings together cultural venues across the North as they develop ways to bring touring exhibitions to the region.

The DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery has teamed up with Berwick Visual Arts in Northumberland, Towneley Hall Museum in Lancashire and Central Art Gallery in Ashton-under-Lyme and been successful in applying to the Arts Council of England’s Strategic Touring Fund.

The £150,000 has been awarded to cover a two-year period, when the consortium will commission four artists to create inspiring, thought provoking, fun and challenging artworks to engage with audiences.
