Electricity chiefs are calling on parents to help make sure their children stay safe this summer.
With more than a million pupils across the region breaking up for the summer this week, electricity network distributor Northern Powergrid is calling on parents to make sure their children understand the dangers posed by trespassing on the power network.
Geoff Earl, director of safety at Northern Powergrid, said: “We want to ensure that youngsters understand they must not climb pylons or playing near overhead power lines or substations.
“It’s vital that they understand the real dangers of coming into contact with an active power network, accidentally or otherwise.
