KIDS have been given a cash boost, thanks to a generous charity.
Two Wearside youth projects have been handed more than £1,500 in grants by the Children’s Foundation.
Good causes have until the end of the week to apply to a new cash pot.
Applications to the charity’s next regional small grants panel close on Friday.
The programme supports community projects that benefit children and young people in the North East, with grants of up to £1,000. More than £238,000 has already been handed out across the region, including on Wearside.
Sunderland’s Blue Watch Youth Centre was granted £740 towards a new health awareness club and Herrington Burn YMCA, in Houghton, was awarded £800 to set up a sensory area for disabled youngsters.
Applications can be made online at www.thechildrensfoundation.co.uk or by calling 282 0000.
