A POST-MORTEM examination was last night carried out on a body found by police investigating the disappearance of grandmother Pamela Jackson.
The 55-year-old, pictured, who has three sons and four grandchildren, vanished from her home in Chester-le-Street in March.
Durham Police confirmed the body found on the moors between Halifax and Rochdale, in West Yorkshire, on Monday, was taken to a mortuary in Bradford, where it was examined by a Home Office pathologist.
They confirmed no formal identification had yet taken place, with no update expected until later this afternoon.
Ms Jackson’s partner Adrian Muir, 50, from Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, has appeared in court charged with her murder and is due back at Newcastle Crown Court on June 11.
