PROUD of your potatoes? Delighted with your dahlias?
Wearsiders who have managed to “grow your own” in spite of the dreadful summer weather are invited to show off their skills and enter the Industry Classes at the Beamish Festival of Agriculture next month. On September 8 and 9, there is a competiton for home-grown vegetables and floral arrangements – beetroot, onions, potatoes and tomatoes, garden flowers and miniature gardens. Local experts will judge all the classes and prize-winning entries will be displayed throughout the event. Visit www.beamish.org.uk/dig-for-victory!
