FORMER BBC weather presenter Trai Anfield has joined the committee of the North East Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
A presenter on Look North for 10 years, Trai delivered her final weather report in April before leaving to set up her own production company, Enlightened Media.
She joins the six existing members of the committee, comprised of leading heritage experts from across the region, with a wide range of local knowledge.
It is the job of the committee to make decisions on applications for funding from £50,000 to £2million.
Trai said: “It is an honour to be asked to join the Heritage Lottery Fund NE Committee, and I’m excited about working with such a knowledgeable and dedicated team.
“The diverse range of projects that HLF supports in the region is hugely impressive, with some of our most treasured heritage assets only accessible due to its funding.”
Ivor Crowther, head of HLF North East, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Trai to HLF’s North East committee.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience.”
