Toby Hedworth QC told the court Pervez has repaid £20,000 to the Post Office.

Judge Robert Adams said Pervez could have unconditional bail until his next appearance, after the preparation of a pre-sentence report by the probation service.

The judge gave no indication of what the outcome of the case would be but told Pervez: "I will give you credit for your plea at the time of sentence.

"You have been on conditional bail to date and you can remain on unconditional bail.

"Make sure you see the probation officer today."
