Pony Tinkerbell saved from sinkhole thanks to firefighters
The owners of a pony which was freed from a sinkhole have sent their thanks to the fire crew which helped pull their pet free.
County Durham and Darlington were called to Woodstone Village, near Fencehouses, on Saturday after the horse was discovered in the hole.
A crew from High Handenhold Fire Station used ropes, pieces of wood and the power of a Land Rover to pull the piebald pony free.
Following the rescue, Tinkerbell's owners shared a photo with a sign reading "Thank you all for saving my life."
