Easington Colliery remain sixth from top in the Ebac Northern League Second Division after they could only draw 2-2 with eighth from bottom Alnwick Town at Welfare Park last night.
David Brown gave the visitors a dream start when he fired past goalkeeper Kyle Donaldson with only four minutes on the watch.
It took the Colliers another 26 minutes to equalise as Joe Kerridge beat the wall and ‘keeper Callum Brooks with a direct free-kick and immediately on resuming David Paul took advantage of a defensive mistake and gave the home side the lead.
But within a couple of minutes Alnwick were level with Brown heading in a Darren Riddle cross.
A win would have lifted Easington into third place behind leaders South Shields and Chester-le-Street.
