Police warning after man loses methadone medication on bus in Sunderland

Police are warning people of the dangers of taking medication that is not prescribed to them after drugs were lost in Sunderland.

The drugs were reported missing at around 9.30am today when a prescription containing a quantity of methadone that a man had with him was lost as he travelled on a bus travelling from Silksworth into Sunderland.

The medication is a substitute for heroin.

Officers are warning anyone who comes across them to be on their guard as this drug is dangerous and potentially fatal if taken by anyone it is not prescribed for.

If anyone finds the medication, they have been asked to hand it in to police straight away.
