Police probe double car break-in in Sunderland

Two cars had their windows smashed by a brick in a double break-in in Sunderland.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the thefts, which took place on Saturday at about 8pm in St Bedes Terrace.

Northumbria Police say the windows were smashed by a brick, and a bag was stolen from one of the cars.

A spokesman for the force added: "The offender is described as wearing a black hoody which had red on the back, and was riding a pedal bike.

"Officers are carrying out inquiries and are appealing for witnesses.

"Any witnesses should contact Northumbria Police on 1040 180317 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
