Police investigate theft of cash from patient at Durham hospital
A patient had money stolen from a hospital locker as she received treatment at the site, police have confirmed.
The woman was been cared for at University Hospital of North Durham, in Durham City, last weekend.
She had the cash taken from a locker which she put her bag into.
Officers from Durham Police have confirmed they are investigating the theft.
A spokeswoman from Durham Police said: We received a report on Saturday, August 13, at 3pm that a patient at the hospital had had money stolen from her locker.
"She had put her bag containing money into it the night before and the cash had gone the following day.
"An officer called to see the daughter of the theft victim, who had reported the matter on behalf of her mother, and the matter is being investigated."
