Police hunt Sunderland slapper

A MAN was slapped and kicked during a street attack in Sunderland city centre.

The 27-year-old was assaulted in Church Lane, near Sunderland Minster, on Sunday evening.

He told police he had been slapped across the face and kicked in the hand by another man.

Officers are investigating the incident.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At 8.07pm on Sunday, police received a report that a man aged 27 had been assaulted. The assault is said to have happened at 7.15pm.”
