Police continue murder investigation after death of woman in Hartlepool

Mother-of-three Norma Bell, 79, was found dead in her home in Westbourne Road, Hartlepool, yesterday morning.

Police have confirmed Ms Bell had died before a fire was reported at her home, Forensics have been at the scene.

The mum-of-three, who had lived in the property for 27 years, also cared for more than 50 foster children, was due to celebrate her 80th birthday next month.

A senior detective is due to make a statement at the scene at 3pm.
