Police concerns grow for missing East Durham man

The search continues for a missing East Durham man.

Darren Lawler, 31, has not been seen since the afternoon of June 11 and his family and friends are growing increasingly concerned.

He is originally from Wheatley Hill, but went missing from his home in Ferryhill at 2pm.

An organised search will take place today at 4pm at Wingate Nature Reserve.

Darren went missing from his home in the Blandford Street area of Ferryhill.

Darren left his home address saying he was going to stay with his dad in the Wheatley Hill area but never arrived and has not been seen or heard from since by family or friends.

Inspector Sue Howard from Durham Constabulary’s Response team said, “I would like to appeal to members of the public to help us trace Darren.

“If you have any information on Darren’s whereabouts or may have seen him over the last few days please let me know.”

She added: “I would urge Darren to contact police so we can establish he is safe and well.”

Darren is a thirty one year old white man of medium build with short dark brown hair and is clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a khaki green hoody with dark blue or black jeans and white Nike trainers with a black tick. Darren’s right upper arm is

tattooed with the name SIMON.

Anyone with information regarding Darren’s whereabouts is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101 quoting reference DHM 11062015 0329.
