Police called out to rowdy part in Sunderland street

POLICE were called after a Sunderland house party got out of hand.

Officers attended a house in Gambia Road, Grindon, shortly after 8pm on Friday, following reports of arguing in the garden.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said there had been a party at the address which had resulted in disorder, and a CCTV camera has now been set up in the area to monitor any unruly behaviour.

There was no injuries and no arrests were made.

“Follow-up inquiries will be made with the householder,” said the spokesman.

“We work closely with our partners to monitor areas where we’ve received concerns about antisocial behaviour with a view to taking appropriate action.

“Following reports of anti-social behaviour in the area, a mobile CCTV camera has been present in the street to monitor the situation.

“Anyone who has concerns is asked to get in touch with their local officers.”

Last month, the Echo reported how four people were arrested and three ended up in hospital after an argument at the same house spilled out on to the street.

Police say they are working with the council and housing provider regarding a number of issues at the address.
