Police arrest toll for Newcastle United versus Sunderland violence hits 132

POLICE investigating disorder after the Tyne-Wear derby say 132 arrests have now been made.

So far, 103 people have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after officers investigating the disturbance, which happened on Sunday, April 14, in Newcastle city centre, sourced CCTV images, and 29 people were arrested on the day.

Bail conditions prevent all of those arrested from attending Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and England matches.
