Police appeal after man dies in County Durham collision

A man has died after a road accident in County Durham.

Now Durham Constabulary has appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.

The 38-year driver of a grey Handa Civic was pronounced dead at the scene after it collided with a dark blue Ford Transit van at 9pm yesterday, Friday, October 2, on the B6291 in Coxhoe, at the junction with Park Hill.

The 28-year-old driver of the Transit was arrested. He has been released under investigation.

A passenger in the van, a woman in her twenties, suffered non-serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital of North Durham.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicles prior to the incident.

They would also like to speak to anyone who may have any dashcam footage of the collision, or the vehicles beforehand.

Anyone with any information should call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 483 of October 2.
