Police appeal after glass thrown at woman in Sunderland restaurant

Police are appealing for information after a glass was thrown at a woman while she was having a meal in Sunderland yesterday.

Following reports of an incident, police were called to Martino's Restaurant, on Queen's Parade, at 2pm.

Officers attended and found a man had thrown a glass at a 20-year-old woman customer who was having a meal.

The offender, who had been in the premises with a woman, made off in the direction of Morrisons before police arrived.

Officers are investigating an offence of common assault and are appealing for witnesses. The woman was not injured.

The offender is described as wearing a blue Adidas tracksuit top and dark blue jeans.
