Police appeal after cyclist is killed near Sunderland Nissan plant

POLICE are appealing for witness to a road accident in which a cyclist died.

The 31-year-old suffered fatal injuries when he collided with a car on Cherry Blossom Way, near the Nissan plant, shortly after 10pm last night.

He is believed to have been employed by Initial, the company which provides cleaning services at the factory.

The driver of the car is this morning still helping police with inquiries.
