HELP is again being sought to find an 88-year-old who has been missing for more than a week.
Alexander Cromar was spotted on CCTV shopping in Wilkinsons, Jarrow, on the afternoon of Sunday, June 3, with the last confirmed sighting of him an hour later.
Police believe he may have returned to his Concorde Way home as he was wearing different clothes, including a light-coloured jacket and trilby hat.
Investigating officers widened their search to Chester-le-Street and Sunderland, where it was said he was “fond of shopping.”
They have now spoken to more than 80 witnesses and made further inquiries in Sheffield and Blackpool.
Mr Cromar’s family are desperate to hear he is okay. He is not in good health and suffers from mild dementia
Chief Superintendent Ian Dawes, who is leading the search, said: “We’re urging the public to think about their movements and consider whether or not they’ve seen him.
”We also want people to be extra observant as they go about their daily routines in case they see him.
“Any information we receive, no matter how insignificant, could prove crucial in helping us build a picture of his movements since he was seen and crucial in helping us to find him.”
He is about 5ft 7ins tall, skinny build, with white hair. Call police on 101, extension 69191.
