Hundreds of people - and even a dog too - got in the saddle to take part in the Big Bike Ride weekend - and we were there to capture it all on camera.

The family-friendly event covered a variety of distances so everyone could take part, with five mile, 25-mile and 35-mile courses available.

Victoria French, head of events for Sunderland City Council, said: “Sunderland is an important location on the national cycle network and few cities can provide traffic free cycling on such a scale, from the heart of the city to the suburbs and countryside.”
