Photographers urged to have a heart

Have your say

SUNDERLAND snappers can put themselves in the picture by entering the British Heart Foundation’s third annual Red for Heart digital Photography competition.

The brief is simply “What the heart means to you” with just one rule – to incorporate red somewhere in the digital shot.

The same brief spans three age categories: adults aged 16 and over, students aged 16 or over undertaking full or part-time courses and juniors aged 15 and under.

Closing date for entries is Sunday, January 6.

The winners will be announced in January 2012 and a gallery of their photographs showcased in February as part of National Heart Month.

Stephen Layden, BHF fund-raising and volunteer manager in Tyne and Wear, said: “I’m excited about Sunderland getting involved with the competition.

“It’s a great opportunity for photographers to potentially have their work showcased.”
