Urgent appeal to find missing Wearside schoolboy, 13

Police are appealing to the public for help tracing a Wearside teenager who has been missing from home for five days.

Officers say Miles Kennedy-Newton was last seen on Thursday lunchtime (December 17) at his home in Shiney Row.

The 13-year-old has links to Consett and police believe he could be in this area.

Officers have also released a picture of Miles, alongside a description, as they appeal for anyone with any information to get in contact police.

Sharing the post on social media, a Consett Police spokesman said: “The 13-year-old is around 4ft 10 tall, with short brown hair.

“When last seen he was wearing a duffle coat, with black or grey joggers and black Nike trainers.”

The appeal has been shared thousands of times on social media by concerned members of the community.

Anyone with information is asked to ring Durham Constabulary on 101 and ask for Consett Response.
