Tributes after man suffers cardiac arrest and dies in Sunderland street

Messages of support and condolence have been shared for the loved ones of a man who went into cardiac arrest in a Sunderland street.

Emergency services were called to Ryhope Road in the city at around 4pm on Tuesday, June 23, following reports of concern for the man, who died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

As Northumbria Police officers and the North East Ambulance Service rushed to the scene, a passer-by jumped into action to perform CPR on the man.

Following the tragedy, the Sunderland community united to pay tribute to the man, and send their best wishes to his family.
