Tickets to see The Killers at Riverside Stadium already on resale sites - advertised at hundreds more than face value

Tickets to see hit US rock band The Killers in Middlesbrough went on sale on Friday morning – but less than an hour later tickets are already appearing on resale sites.

It took minutes for the initial wave of tickets to be bagged by excited gig-goers but there will be many fans who have missed out on seeing the band – whose hit’s including Human, Smile Like You Mean It and Mr Brightside.

Tickets went on sale at 9am on Friday morning (November 22) and by 9.40am there were no tickets left on sites like See Tickets and Gigs and Tours.

On Ticketmasters gig-hopefuls were put in a queue as the website struggled to deal with the demand.

But already tickets for the gig at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough have appeared on resale site Viagogo.

The most expensive ticket is currently listed for £357 – for a seated ticket which was originally sold for £93.

People who bought tickets and are attempting to re-sell them on sites such as Viagogo set the price themselves.

Fans took to Twitter about their difficulties trying to get tickets.

One said: “Spent an hour trying to get tickets for The Killers in Boro now I’ve ended up getting em for London, oh well still got them.”

When announcing their latest UK tour, The Killers also revealed they will be releasing a new album – Imploding The Mirage.

It will be the sixth album from Brandon Flowers and co and will arrive in Spring 2020.
