Sunderland Aldi worker celebrates her 20th anniversary of working for the supermarket chain
An Aldi store assistant in Sunderland is celebrating her 20 years of service to the supermarket chain this month.
Angela James, who works as a store assistant at the Carley Hill Road store, first joined Aldi back in 2001 when she started off as a cleaner at the recently closed Hylton Riverside store but progressing into her current role in 2006.
Throughout her two decades of service, Angela has gone above and beyond her typical duties by taking part in a range of fundraising activities.
When speaking about her long service for the supermarket chain, Angela commented that it is her “amazing” colleagues who make her want to come to work.
She said: “It has been a privilege to work at Aldi for 20 years. I’ve loved working here and want to thank the customers and my amazing colleagues who make it such a great place to come to work every day.”
Angela even revealed her favourite Aldi product, adding: “It has got to be the Lentil Baked Crisps – they are my go-to snack!”
Sandy Mitchell, Regional Managing Director at Aldi UK commented: “Without the hard work and dedication of our store colleagues we wouldn’t be able to provide customers with the unbeatable prices Aldi is known for.
“Colleagues like Angela are the cornerstone of our business and I thank her for her continued dedication throughout the last 20 years. Hopefully we work together for many more years to come.”
