The operator of the Tyne and Wear Metro service has announced that no trains will run between Pelaw and South Hylton to allow for work to be carried out by Network Rail.

But those looking to get out and about this Valentine’s Day weekend shouldn’t worry as a replacement bus service, the number 901, will be calling at or close to all stations from Heworth to South Hylton.

Some late night buses will also continue to Regent Centre from Heworth as they do not connect to the last trains.
