Missing 18-year-old from Seaham being looked after by emergency services after she is found following appeal

Police searching for a missing 18-year-old from Seaham have said she has been found and is in the care of the emergency services.

Earlier today, Thursday, December 10, Durham Constabulary issued an appeal following the disappearance of an 18-year-old woman as officers said they are becoming “increasingly concerned” for her.

They asked for people with information to get in touch “as a matter of emergency” as concerns grew for her welfare.

It has since shared an update which said: “We are pleased to report that 18-year-old Maya has been located, and is now being looked after by emergency services.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everybody who shared our appeal and to all of our colleagues who assisted in the search.

“All of your help is very much appreciated.”

The teenager had last been seen at around 4pm in Church Street in Seaham and is known to also have links to London.
